Georgia Tech vs Texas Southern live updates

After a tough loss to North Florida on Sunday, Georgia Tech (1-1, 0-0) is hoping for a quick rebound tonight at home against Texas Southern. Heading into the game, Georgia Tech is ranked 92nd in the latest Kenpom Ratings and Texas Southern is ranked 272nd.

Texas Southern head coach Johnny Jones was an assistant coach at LSU in five games against Georgia Tech between 1986 and 1990. Three of those were NCAA tournament games, of which the Yellow Jackets won two, including a second-round meeting in 1990 in Knoxville, Tennessee. That Tigers team included Shaquille O’Neal, Stanley Roberts and Chris Jackson.

Despite having five players score in double figures and scoring 93 points, a high for the Yellow Jackets under Damon Stoudamire, Georgia Tech lost to North Florida for the first time this season, 105-93, on Sunday at McCamish Pavilion.

The Yellow Jackets spread themselves out on offense, with five players finishing the game with 10 or more points. Baye Ndongo posted his first double-double of the season and the seventh of his career, finishing the game with a team-high 20 points and 10 rebounds. Kowacie Reeves, Jr. (17), Luke O’Brien (15), Lance Terry (14) and Javian McCollum (14) rounded out the double-digit scoring totals. Naithan George filled the stat sheet, recording a team-leading seven assists as well as six rebounds, five points and a steal, the most of his career.
