Georgia’s offensive struggles against Ole Miss continue

The Georgia Bulldogs have completed the first 30 minutes of their match with the Ole Miss Rebels. Here’s what’s happened so far.

The Georgia Bulldogs and Ole Miss Rebels are halfway through their rainy SEC matchup in Oxford. The Dawgs are currently down 7-16 and have once again looked less than stellar on the offensive side of things.

The last thirty minutes of regular playing time are just around the corner. Here’s how the first half of the game played so far.

The Dawg’s first defensive attack started as perfectly as a fan could hope for, with two sacks and an interception to put the Bulldogs in position inside the Ole Miss 25-yard line. Georgia quickly took advantage of this lucky opportunity to score six and take an early 7-0 lead. The Rebs responded with a touchdown march of their own to tie the game 7-7. A poor kickoff return caused the Dawgs’ offense to start inside their own 20 and the Bulldogs quickly suffered a 3-in-out. This gave the Rebels excellent field position where they eventually took a 10-7 lead on a field goal.

The Dawgs’ offensive woes continued as they were forced to punt again. Ole Miss was again able to reach the Dawgs’ red zone, but was stopped by another field goal, making the game 13-7. The Dawgs’ offense showed some life, surpassing its own 50 mark for the first time, but failed to convert it into points and had to punt again. The Dawg defense once again maintained their “bend, don’t break” mentality as they forced another Ole Miss field goal. Offensive drops doomed the Bulldogs’ final offensive attack of the half.

The Bulldogs will receive the ball to start the second half. Stay tuned for more coverage of the rest of the game.
