GOP Sen. Katie Britt vacates Lara Trump to fill Marco Rubio’s Florida vacancy

President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet appointments have led to turnover, with Republicans pushing to move up to higher positions. The latest promotion could be Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump.

In an interview with Axios, Alabama Republican Senator Katie Britt made the case for Lara, who is currently co-chair of the RNC, to fill Marco Rubio’s soon-to-be-vacated Senate seat — if Trump does indeed choose him as secretary of state.

According to Britt, Lara understands the “agenda.”

“She understands the America First agenda,” she added. “To me, she would be a great choice, a voice for hard-working families and another mother of school-age children who understands what we are dealing with, which is fighting to protect the American dream.”

Additionally, Lara “just won a historic victory,” Britt said, citing Lara’s role in getting more MAGA votes with the help of her best friend Scott Presler.

Lara has not officially spoken about public support. But the way these things usually work, no one who wants it says they want it.
