Here’s a vote for democracy over oligarchy as SEC football hurtles toward chaos

An avalanche of conclusions have been drawn to understand the events of the last 48 hours in this country. I lean towards a personal version of chaos theory. Simply put, it is the strong belief that America loves chaos.

That’s why the majority of Americans should welcome the final month of the college football season as it heads toward the first 12-team playoffs. The next four weekends of the regular season certainly appear to be giving us a steady diet of unforeseen misfortune with side dishes of pure, old-fashioned hate and messy, new-fangled math.

Here in our own noisy backyard, where the SEC has positioned itself for a more memorable November than 2013, the landscape is at its most full of spine-tingling possibilities. This month remains the gold standard of undying disbelief as Auburn ushers us in a… 15-day span, the Jordan-Hare prayer and the Kick Six.
