An Iran-backed Iraqi militia launched a drone attack in northern Israel early Tuesday, according to Iranian state media.

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq claimed several of its drones attacked Haifa, a port city in northern Israel, in response to Israeli military actions in Gaza and Lebanon, state media said.

The reported drone strike comes at a time when the entire Middle East region is on the verge of becoming embroiled in a larger regional conflict over the ongoing conflicts between Israel and Iran’s proxies Hamas and Hezbollah in Gaza and Lebanon.
