Iron Maiden singer Paul Di’Anno’s cause of death has been revealed

The cause of death has been revealed for Iron Maiden alum Paul Di’Anno, who died last month at the age of 66.

At the time of Di’Anno’s death, his long-time label was Conquest Music said he had been dealing with “multiple health issues,” without providing further details. Representatives for Di’Anno said Monday that they have since received permission from the singer’s family to disclose the results of his autopsy.

“His sisters, Cheryl and Michelle, confirmed this: ‘Basically he had a tear in the sac around his heart and blood poured into it from the aorta, causing the cardiac arrest,'” he said Facebook statement said. “Paul’s death was instantaneous and hopefully painless. May he rest in peace.”

Accompanying the post was a photo of Di’Anno’s friends and family putting on a show in his honor over the weekend at Underworld Camden, a live music venue in London: “With a great set of music, his fellow musicians gave a worthy tribute . “Farewell to her boyfriend.”

Di’Anno died on October 21 at his home in Salisbury, England. In the years before his death, Di’Anno suffered from a weakened immune system after contracting sepsis nine years ago, his family and record label said in an Oct. 21 statement opinion.

“Despite suffering from serious health issues in recent years that limited him to performing in a wheelchair, Paul continued to entertain his fans around the world, logging well over 100 shows as of 2023,” the statement said. “Conquest Music is proud to have Paul Di’Anno join our artistic family and asks his legion of fans to raise a glass to him.”

Later, the members and co-managers of Iron Maiden issued one opinion They said they were “deeply saddened” by Di’Anno’s death.

“Paul’s contribution to Iron Maiden was immense and helped set us on the path we have been traveling as a band for almost five decades,” the band said. “His groundbreaking presence as a frontman and vocalist, both on stage and on our first two albums, will be fondly remembered not only by us, but by fans around the world.”

Di’Anno was a member of Iron Maiden from 1978 to 1981. He recorded the band’s self-titled debut album in 1980 and its follow-up, Killers, in 1981. After his dismissal, he was replaced by Bruce Dickinson, who remains the band’s lead singer to this day. Di’Anno later fronted other bands including Killers, Battlezone and Warhorse.

In 2023 the singer will revealed that Iron Maiden had helped him pay the medical bills for treatment of a lung abscess and said he would be “forever grateful for that.”
