Lillard was accidentally hit in the face by a referee blocking a late shot as time expired in the third quarter of the Bucks’ loss to the Celtics on Sunday. In the fourth minute, he actually played almost seven minutes and scored 0 for 2 from the floor. He reported a headache on Monday.

Lillard was publicly placed into the NBA concussion protocol via the Bucks on November 11th at 8:16 p.m. and was immediately ruled out for Tuesday’s game. There was belief he might be available against the Pistons, but he was ruled out Wednesday afternoon.

Bucks injury report

  • Khris Middleton is out (surgery on both ankles)Rivers: “No (backlash). He just progresses and keeps going. I don’t know when the second leg was or if there was a set, so we’re trying to get him healthy so he’s ready to play. “He’s ready to play. As I’ve said jokingly a thousand times, “Doc is a nickname.” I don’t really know. I just report to the medical team and they tell me the same thing like he’s getting there, he’s getting closer and basically I’m giving you the same thing, I’m not getting involved I’ve told you many times. I don’t think it’s a great place for a coach. Troy (Flanagan) comes in, gives me the report and I say “Thank you” and that’s it. I look for Khris And people who are hurt about their feelings more human stuff because Khris wants to play and he’s frustrated that he didn’t play last night now that he might be out so he’s frustrated and that’s easy so For a coach it’s more about mental health than anything else.
