Jake Paul challenges Katie Taylor to a $40 million stake in his fight purse after she picked Mike Tyson to beat him

Jake Paul has challenged Katie Taylor to bet their respective fight purses, which are believed to be well into the millions.

The social media star faces Mike Tyson on Friday night, with Taylor taking on Amanda Serrano in the co-main event in a rematch of their historic fight at Madison Square Garden. And on Wednesday evening an otherwise dreary press conference came to life when the Irishwoman was asked to pick a winner.

Taylor is a huge fan of Tyson and has previously expressed how honored she is to share a card with her idol. Therefore, she supported him in beating Paul, which angered him and led him to challenge the Omen boxing icon to a big money bet.

Jake Paul and Mike Tyson share a dreary final press conference before fight night

The heavyweight affair between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson is one of the most talked about fights in recent times and has attracted media attention around the world. But before their eyes and cameras, their last press conference seemed boring.

Tyson was far from his old form and only seemed to revive when Bruce Carrington did a reprint of his famous Lou Savarese post-fight promo. He mimicked the legend’s signature interview, to which Tyson delightedly replied that he “came off his meds” at that moment.

Otherwise, moderator Ariel Helwani led a relatively tame question-and-answer session that dragged on at times as Tyson clearly gave the impression he would rather be somewhere else. But Paul brought the stage to life right after the death after all the undercards were asked to give their predictions for the fight.

Jake Paul challenges Katie Taylor and other fighters to massive combat missions

Katie Taylor was one of the majority of fighters who chose “Iron Mike” to win the main event and was the latest to face his wrath as he goaded the rest of the field during an emphatic promo. He took his microphone, walked across the stage and demanded that they bet different amounts of money.

He once beat Carrington down and demanded that Neeraj Goyat and other fighters on the undercard bet large amounts of their money. But the biggest bet of the night came when he joined Taylor, who is reportedly making $6 million for her rematch with Serrano.

Paul, who had previously claimed to make $40 million, approached Taylor and asked her what she would be willing to bet. And even though the Brayer native looked extremely uncomfortable in the situation, he was funny enough to tell him to bet his wallet.

The pair shook hands to seal the deal, and Paul later claimed that he would work out contracts for any fighters who agreed. If Taylor wins, she would be by far the highest-earning female fighter of all time.

She and Serrano are both earning record sums for the fight, with the American expected to earn slightly more as a “home fighter” under Most Valuable Promotions. But if she left with Paul’s handbag, it would be a gigantic sum that she could make at the end of her career.
