John Harbaugh says Kyle Hamilton’s ankle injury is ‘not serious’

Perhaps the Ravens’ best defender, All-Pro safety Kyle Hamilton, suffered an ankle injury in the first half of “Thursday Night Football” against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Hamilton left the field without the help of trainers and it was initially declared questionable whether he would return. He was sidelined at the start of the second half and returned to the sidelines in a tracksuit and boots.

After the game, head coach John Harbaugh gave an update on Hamilton.

“It’s not a serious ankle [injury]Harbaugh said. “I don’t know how long it’ll be, but it’s an ankle sprain.”

Hamilton completely went down with one minute and nine seconds left in the first half. It is unclear whether the back of his cleat was accidentally injured by a Bengals receiver running behind him or whether it was a non-contact injury. Hamilton fell into coverage after a 17-yard completion to running back Chase Brown and rolled his ankle.

Hamilton already had four tackles and two passes defended in the first half. He came into the game second on the team in tackles (67), first in passes defended (five) and had two sacks.
