‘Joker 2’ Actor Says It’s ‘The Worst Movie Ever’

Comedian Tim Dillon, who has a memorable role as an Arkham Asylum security guard in Joker: Folie à Deux, recently appeared in The Joe Rogan Experience and blasted Todd Phillips’ controversial Joker sequel as “the worst movie ever.” that has ever been filmed.” The sequel received mostly negative reviews and flopped at the box office, grossing $58 million domestically and $204 million worldwide, a far cry from the original’s 2019 gross of $1 billion.

“It’s the worst movie ever made,” Dillon said. “I think after the first ‘Joker’ there was a lot of talk: ‘Oh, the incels really liked that.’ This was loved by the wrong people. This sent the wrong type of message. Male rage! Nihilism!’ All this food for thought. And then I think, ‘What if we went the other way?’ And now Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga are dancing to the point where it’s crazy.”

“There is no plot,” he continued. “We were sitting there, me and these other guys were all wearing this security gear because we work at Arkham Asylum, and I turned to one of them and we heard this crap and I said, ‘What the fuck is that?’ And they said, ‘This is going to be a bomb, man.’ I say, ‘This is the worst thing I’ve ever seen.’ We were talking about it at lunch and we were like, ‘What’s the plot?’ Is there a plot? I don’t know, I think he falls in love with her in prison?’ It’s not even hateful. That’s how terrible it is.”

Dillon went on to theorize that the Joker sequel may have been a $200 million “hoax” since it directly competed with everything fans loved about the 2019 film. For some, this is the film’s greatest strength, including Quentin Tarantino. During a recent interview on “The Bret Easton Ellis Podcast,” the “Pulp Fiction” Oscar winner raved about the sequel, saying Phoenix “gives one of the best performances I’ve ever seen in my life.”

“The Joker directed the film,” Tarantino said of director and co-writer Todd Phillips. “The whole concept, even that he’s spending the studio’s money – he’s spending it the way the Joker would spend it, all right? And then his big surprise gift – haha! – the jack-in-the-box when he offers you his hand to shake and you get a buzzer with 10,000 volts that shoots at you – are the comic book freaks. He tells them all, “Fuck you.” He tells the movie audience, “Fuck you.” He says, “Fuck you to Hollywood.” He says “Fuck you” to everyone who owns DC and Warner Brothers stock […] And Todd Phillips is the Joker. A Joker movie, all right, that’s it. He’s the Joker.”
