Josh Hart committed an ‘inexcusable’ foul on Coby White that led to the Knicks’ loss: ‘That’s on my shoulders’

Things didn’t go well for the Knicks on Wednesday night, but despite trailing the Bulls by as many as 22 points, they still had a chance to win late. But Josh HartThat’s a foul Coby White Those hopes were dashed by the Knicks’ 124-123 loss to Chicago.

“You called a foul. It’s a foul. “Inexcusable mistake,” Hart said. “They had a good umbrella at the top and I was at the back. I just went up to fight it. And yes, it is a foul.”

Hart explained that he had to lose White for a bit before breaking through to the ball and into the Bulls’ middle Nikola Vucevic built what Hart called a “pretty good” screen that kept him going after the task.

“This is someone we trust with the ball. My thought process in this moment is to be able to get a rebound,” Hart said of the final play. “A difficult thing. Should have been a big statement win for us. The first time we got hit and started fighting back. I have to be better. That’s on my shoulders. Now I just have to keep going.”

On Wednesday, the Knicks played back-to-back games for the first time this season, but they have a day off before hosting the Brooklyn Nets on Friday night to continue group play in the NBA Cup tournament.
