Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos Tease ‘Live’ Upcoming Palm Springs Shows (Exclusive)

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are ready to soak up the sun in Palm Springs!

days before Live with Kelly and Mark Co-hosts As they traveled to the California hotspot to record four shows at the Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort and Spa, they told PEOPLE exclusively how their trip to the West Coast came about.

“We manifested this. We really, really did,” Cosuelos, 53, tells PEOPLE.

“It’s one of our favorite places. I think we started talking about it and just joking. We thought, ‘We should do the show there’.” [Michael] Gelman,” he shares. “We talked about it so much that I think it caught their attention in Palm Springs, and it just happened.”

Ripa, 54, says that while they’re both “so excited about the vacation,” she’s mostly looking forward to a “great reunion” with old friends.

However, she tells PEOPLE that any reports that she and her husband of 28 years are staying there permanently are inaccurate.

“What’s so funny is that it’s been reported, and I don’t know where in a few tabloids we’re going,” Ripa said when she asked Consuelos if he was aware of the reports.

“My uncle called me to congratulate me on moving to Palm Springs,” she adds. “I get all these calls from people saying, ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe you’re finally moving to California after all these years.’ And I’m like, ‘We’re going to stay for four days.'”

While the couple will be in Palm Springs for four days, episodes will be taped on Sunday, November 10th and Monday, November 11th. They will air from Monday November 11th to Thursday November 14th.

The change in location will also not affect the show’s celebrity guests, which include Kyle Richards, Mark Harmon, Justine Lupe, Don Johnson, Caroline Rhea, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Jerry O’Connell and Rebecca Romijn. Neon Trees and Bishop Briggs will also perform.

As for what they might do during those shows, Consuelos says he’s willing to play golf with O’Connell, 50, while Ripa says she wants to teach Gelman to play mahjong.

Ripa jokingly adds that after recently being named PEOPLE’s Sexiest TV Show Host Alive, Consuelos is determined to “find a way” to get her husband next to a pool and “videotape it” for fans. .
