Kerr Kriisa brings infectious energy to the rest of the Kentucky team

One of the main things Mark Pope talked to Kerr Kriisa about when he chose Kentucky was his swagger and how he gives Lexington a fan-favorite attitude. So far this season, Kentucky fans are definitely getting a taste of it. Talking nonsense, getting the fans fired up and setting the tone gave me a big boost from the bench.

Otega Oweh says Kriisa’s swagger has also rubbed off on him and his teammates. When they need a boost off the bench, Kriisa is there to help them do it.

“It’s crazy. He is electrifying. Every time he’s out there, he’s going to do something with it. He’ll scream in someone’s face, he’ll hit the ground. … When he does that, it’s just electrifying because he catches everyone.” He’s put in the work and managed 12 assists in the last game or something like that. He just tries to make everyone better and he brings energy. This is just huge.”

Aww, Kriisa’s infectious energy.

Oweh knows how valuable Kriisa is and he impacts the game in many different ways beyond his energy and passing. He admits that there is more to Kriisa than he originally thought.

“When you’re a player, of course you want to come in and make an impact in some way. For him it’s his style of play, his shooting ability and his energy. It is valuable in many ways. At first I thought it was like this. “It’s actually just his trash talk, but no, his energy is just crazy.”

Oh, how different Kriisa seems.

Kriisa has brought all that energy so far this season, and the Wildcats will need more of it when they have their first big test of the season against Duke on Tuesday.
