Key forward ruled out against Memphis Grizzlies

The Portland Trail Blazers face the Memphis Grlzizles in the eleventh game of the season.

The Blazers host the Grizzlies for their first three-game series of the season. With a record of 3-7, the Blazers are underdogs at home. They’ll try to play spoilsport against the 6-4 Grizzlies; However, the Blazers will have to do without their most important striker in this duel.

The Trail Blazers are still without forward Matisse Thybulle. Thybulle is out as he rehabs from knee surgery he underwent before the season. At the time, he was expected to be out for three to four weeks. We are currently in the third week.

Thybulle continues to make progress in the final stages of his recovery from minor knee surgery. His next chance to play will be Tuesday against the Timberwolves.

In addition to Thybulle, the Blazers also have Bryce McGowens, Justin Minaya and Taze Moore on the injury report.

McGowens is out for a tackle in the G League, Minaya is out for a tackle in the G League and Moore is out for a tackle in the G League. As far as actual injuries go, the Trail Blazers only have one player listed.

The Blazers will have most of their roster available for Sunday’s game, but their opponent will not. They have five players on the injury report, three of whom have been ruled out: guards Desmond Bane, Vince Williams Jr. and Ja Morant.

The Grizzlies announced the following medical update for Morant.

“As Morant attempted to catch a shot in the third quarter of the game against the Los Angeles Lakers on November 6, he was destabilized in mid-air by a Lakers player, causing him to fall into extreme right hip flexion . Imaging showed a posterior hip subluxation (without dislocation). ) along with multiple associated Grade 1 pelvic muscle strains.”

“Morant will be considered on a week-to-week basis and updates will be provided as necessary.”

Morant is averaging 20.6 points and 9.1 assists per game in 27.9 minutes per game for the Grizzlies in eight appearances this season.

Bane is also out of this competition due to an oblique injury. He last played on October 30th. He is averaging 18.8 points per game, 5.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and shooting 48.6 percent from the field.

Williams was assigned to the G League’s Memphis Hustle for practice but will be recalled to the NBA immediately afterward.
