LIVE UPDATES: No. 2 Alabama Basketball hosts Arkansas State

Alabama basketball will welcome a familiar face to Coleman Coliseum on Friday.

Despite being stranded for two hours when the team bus broke down on the way to Alabama, Arkansas State, against all odds, made it to Tuscaloosa to face the Crimson Tide in the second game of the 2024-25 season.

Arkansas State coach Bryan Hodgson, who was previously an assistant coach alongside Nate Oats at Alabama (1-0), played handyman on Thursday. However, the bump in the road cost the team a night of practice.

After No. 2 seed Alabama’s season-opening win over UNC-Asheville and an overtime triumph for Arkansas State, both teams, both preseason favorites to win their respective conferences, are looking to finish 2-0. When Hodgson and Co. visited Coleman Coliseum last December, they returned to Jonesboro with an 89-65 loss.
