Live Updates, Week 11 Match Channel

OXFORD, Miss. – Georgia football plays its first game at Vaught Hemingway Stadium today since 2016, in Kirby Smart’s first season as head coach.

These bulldogs are used to being away from home. This is their sixth game away from Athens this season and fourth true away game.

On Tuesday, Smart could be heard outside the Bulldogs’ practice field, shouting into his microphone to raise the volume of the piped-in crowd noise.

Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin said he hoped Rebels fans would “bring the energy to this matchup that we saw when we went to Georgia.” There was excitement in warmups 30 minutes before kickoff. They took us there at night. It’s earlier here, but it would be great if our fans had the same energy and impact.”

It is Georgia’s fourth game against a ranked opponent. The Rebels are No. 12 in the Coaches Poll and No. 16 in the CFP Rankings. Georgia is number 2 and 3 respectively.

“It’s great, we love the pressure,” center Jared Wilson said. “We love living up to the hype. It’ll be fun.”

Caden Davis extended the Rebels’ lead to 15 points after kicking a 24-yard field goal. The score capped a 10-play, 68-yard drive and gave Ole Miss a 25-10 lead with 3:22 left in the fourth quarter.

Jaxson Dart hit Antwane Wells with a 10-yard pass to give Ole Miss a 22-10 lead on the next drive, capping an eight-play, 75-yard run. The field goal attempt failed. Ole Miss still leads with 6:10 left in the third quarter.

Peyton Woodring kicked a 23-yard field goal for Georgia, bringing the game to a score. Ole Miss leads 16-10 with 9:35 left in the third quarter.

Caden Davis hit a 43-yard field goal to extend Ole Miss’ lead to 13-7. Ole Miss has now scored on its last three possessions after a 9-play, 51-yard drive.

Jaxson Dart returned to the game and completed a 26-yard pass to help set up a 23-yard field goal by Caden Davis. Ole Miss leads 10-7 after the 44-yard drive.

Backup quarterback Austin Simmons just led the Rebels on a 10-play, 75-yard touchdown drive. The Rebels got a 9-yard touchdown run from Ulysses Bentley. Simmons was 5 of 6 for 64 yards on the drive. 7-7 with 6:53 left in the first game.

Dan Jackson’s interception gave Georgia a short field and the Bulldogs held it on the ground on all but one play of a seven-play drive. Nate Frazier’s 2-yard touchdown run on fourth-and-goal gave Georgia a 7-0 lead with 10:32 left in the first quarter. According to ABC, Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart went to the locker room after the first series.

Offensive defenseman Micah Morris, who started in place of the injured Tate Ratledge, is dressed up but didn’t work on either the first or second teams when the units finished warming up. Georgia could slide tackle Xavier Truss over the guard behind Ratledge if needed.

Offensive right defenseman Tate Ratledge works with the starting unit while Micah Morris works with the second team. Trevor Etienne looks to be the first running back through the line after his rib injury.

Defensive lineman Jordan Hall, who hasn’t played this season due to leg injuries, appears to have plenty of energy during warmups. Centre-back Smael Mondon is currently doing warm-ups but would be expected to play a substitute role if he recovers at all from his foot injury.

The latest SEC availability report upgraded center Smael Mondon (foot) and offensive guard Micah Morris (leg) for playing time decisions. Defensive player Jordan Hall (legs) is no longer listed, indicating he is ready to play. Ole Miss top receiver Trae Harris is also listed as a game-time decision.

Rain could play a role, but Georgia has prepared for it.

“They just sprayed water on the ball the whole practice,” center Jared Wilson said Tuesday. “The thing you can do to work on this is to put repetition into practice.”

Kirby Smart addressed wet conditions on his radio show Thursday night.

“In games like this you really have to be patient and smart,” he said. “When will the best conditions prevail, will there even be the best conditions? Who copes best with this? Ball security certainly plays a role. We have to prevent explosive plays and make them.”

He said he is talking to both coordinators about “what our best plan is if conditions get sloppy.”

There are 14 NFL teams listed as eligible for this game, some with multiple replays. These include the Dolphins, Steelers, Vikings, Browns, Giants, Ravens, Patriots, Packers, Commanders, Jets, Saints, Seahawks, Panthers and Eagles.

Here are Georgia’s game captains for today: junior defensive end Mykel Williams, junior wide receiver Dillon Bell, senior tight end Ben Yurosek and junior linebacker Jalon Wilson.

Your referee today is Jeff Heaser. Fun fact: He was the referee for Georgia’s 65-7 win over TCU in the 2022 national title game.

Sat down here in the press box and a downpour of rain was just falling on the field. It went by pretty quickly and now it seems to be raining lightly.

According to a look at Weather.com’s forecast, rain is forecast around 6 p.m. ET – 99 percent.

Georgia vs Ole Miss Predictions

Georgia 31, Ole Miss 24

Ole Miss is under a lot of pressure to pull off an upset after already losing games to Kentucky and LSU this season. Georgia allowed Florida to hang on until the end of the fourth quarter last week, but Carson Beck’s interceptions were a big factor. Look for Beck to play better and for Georgia’s defense to get enough stops to win.
