Livvy Dunne hilariously slams Nick Saban over Vanderbilt’s shade

From his seat three seats away, Nick Saban could only shrug his shoulders.

Olivia “Livvy” Dunne, the LSU gymnast who was a guest selector on “College GameDay” along with her boyfriend and star Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes at Saturday’s Baton Rouge edition, shot in her selection for the LSU and Alabama head coach took a jab at former LSU and Alabama head coach Vanderbilt-South Carolina game.

“Someone once said Vanderbilt was the easiest place to play in the SEC,” Dunne said. “But not today. I’m going with Vanderbilt.”

That’s essentially what Saban said during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” earlier this year, when he described the Commodores’ home environment as the one in the entire conference that “isn’t hard to play in.”

“When you play at Vanderbilt, you have more fans there than them,” Saban said during the segment, “and that’s not disrespect to them. It’s the truth.”

But after Vanderbilt was shocked back then – No. 1 Alabama, 40-35, this season at FirstBank Stadium, they played that clip on the scoreboard.

A little more than a month later, Dunne made sure to remind Saban of his comment, which backfired before No. 24 Vanderbilt hosted the Gamecocks on Saturday.

Dunne and Skenes — who won national championships in gymnastics and baseball, respectively, at LSU — participated in the ESPN show as co-guest pickers, with Dunne becoming the first active college athlete to make a selection on the show since NBA star Marcus Smart was selected during his time at Oklahoma State in 2013, according to ESPN.

Predictably, she picked the Tigers to defeat the Crimson Tide in a match between the No. 15 and No. 11 teams in the country.

“I mean, a night game in Death Valley?” Dunne said. “There’s only one right answer, and it’s LSU.”

Dunne, who announced in July that she would return to LSU for a fifth season, is ranked No. 2 in On3.com’s NIL rankings with a valuation of $4 million, trailing only Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders with a valuation of $6.2 million.

Skenes went 11-3 in 23 starts in his rookie season with Pittsburgh, posted a 1.96 ERA, earned the National League’s start in the All-Star Game and relied on a powerful fastball to power through opponents Lineups to fight.
