Louisville Basketball will look to get its first signature win of the Pat Kelsey era today against No. 12 Tennessee at the KFC Yum! to achieve. Center.

This matchup, the first part of a home-and-home series, is a much-needed test for the Cardinals (1-0), who dismantled Morehead State 93-45 in Monday’s season opener and their 22,090-seat arena is at its highest decibel levels since not for several years.

“It really has an indescribable impact on the game,” Kelsey said Friday when asked about the raucous home climate looming. “I know the energy will be electric.”

The Volunteers (1-0), fresh off a 27-9 season and a trip to the Elite Eight last spring, began their 10th season campaign under coach Rick Barnes with an 80-64 win over Gardner-Webb on Monday. They are led by senior point guard Zakai Zeigler, who was an All-SEC selection and the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2023-24.
