Mike Tyson says he will appear as “the devil himself” for Jake Paul Fight

Mike Tyson is ready to step into the ring with Jake Paul.

As he prepares for his upcoming fight with 27-year-old Paul on November 15, the 58-year-old boxer sounded confident as he told reporters, including ESPN, “I’m bringing the devil himself.” [to the ring],” during an open practice session.

“There are no feelings attached to it,” added Tyson, who called Paul a “friend” and a “very exciting fighter” in his recent post Interview magazine Special feature. The fighter further told reporters that he won’t hold back when he appears with the former YouTube star at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Tyson continued: “My own mother should be very careful if she has to get in the ring with me. When it’s over, it’s over. But as the trial continues, I intend to hurt him. I hope he feels the same way. “Intentions, or he’s in trouble,” per ESPN.

In his interview In the feature, published on November 12, Tyson spoke to actress Rosie Perez about his public perception – and why he doesn’t care what people think of him. “It’s none of my business how people perceive me,” Tyson told Perez, 60.

“That’s how I perceive myself. They may think I’m the psycho guy, the prison guy, the fucking guy who didn’t give a damn and just said everything without a filter. If they think I’m the type to try.” Get a grip, that’s cool too, but it doesn’t matter.

“All that matters is what I feel and what I believe in myself,” Tyson added.

Tyson told Perez about it interview that he is impressed by Paul’s wide audience reach and his ability to “put on a show” in the ring. “Boxing is part entertainment, part spiritual,” Tyson said. “When you fight, you fight with your spirit, your will, your determination. Your skills alone are not enough.”

But when he faces Paul, Tyson thinks everything is invalid. “Hey, I’m in a fight. I’m defending myself. He’ll try to hurt me, so I have to try to hurt him.”

The highly anticipated contest between Paul and Tyson was first announced in March, but had to be postponed from its original date of July 20 to November 15 after Tyson was diagnosed with an ulcer flare-up in May.

Tyson amassed a record of 50-6-2 with 44 knockouts over his career, officially taking a step back from boxing in 2005 (though he last faced Roy Jones Jr. in a 2020 friendly). He was inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame in 2011.
