NBA recap: Anthony Davis and LeBron James lead the Lakers to victory

Anthony Davis and LeBron James starred as the Los Angeles Lakers earned a 123-103 victory over the visiting Toronto Raptors.

Davis scored 22 points in 26 minutes before leaving the game in the third quarter with an eye injury while trying to block a shot by the Raptors’ Jakob Poeltl.

The 31-year-old suffered multiple eye injuries last season, suffering a corneal abrasion against the Golden State Warriors in March before suffering another blow to his left eye against the Minnesota Timberwolves in April.

James added 19 points, 16 assists and 10 rebounds for his second straight triple-double, making the 39-year-old the oldest player in NBA history to achieve the feat. It was his third triple-double of the season and the 115th of his career.

The Raptors led 34-26 at the end of the first quarter and had a 10-point lead (48-38) in the second quarter before the Lakers fought back and cut the deficit to 55-53 at the break.

With three minutes and 59 seconds left in the third quarter, the visitors led 77-72 before the Lakers went on a 16-5 run and controlled the game from then on.
