Netflix’s Arcane season 2, The Penguin finale and more new TV series this week

If you’re in the US, it’s election week. It’s never really fun this late in an election year; This race is causing a lot of concern for people, and as more and more places use mail-in voting, it’s unclear how quickly the race will actually be decided (not to mention the consequences of doing so). That means these are uncertain times with a certain amount of underlying fears. There’s plenty of TV you can watch – to pass the time, to distract yourself, or simply to give yourself a little boost of joy. Dan Da Dan, Ranma 1/2, Abbott Elementary SchoolAnd Dragon Ball: Daima For starters, everyone is releasing new episodes this week.

Here are the best new TV premieres and finales to watch this week.

Release date: November 9th, with three episodes
Showrunner/Creator: Christian Left
Pour: Ella Purnell, Hailee Steinfeld, Katie Leung and more

Piltover and Zaun are in disarray. And it’s even worse now, as Jinx (Ella Purnell) launched a weaponized gem at the Piltover council meeting, just as they were considering Zaun’s independence. The simmering inequality and resentment finally erupted in the Season 1 finale, and the three acts of Season 2 promise even more unrest – and hopefully some damn good television.

The first season finale of The Penguin

Genre: Batman villain drama

Showrunner/Creator: Lauren LeFranc
Pour: Colin Farrell, Cristin Milioti, Rhenzy Feliz and more

We always knew it would come down to this – a showdown between Oswald (Colin Farrell), The Penguin, and Sofia (Cristin Milioti), The Hangman. After seven episodes, we have a better understanding of what Sofia had to go through to get into this situation, and we’ve seen what Oswald did to create this situation. There were ways both of them could have avoided it, but that’s not the Gotham way. Who will gain the upper hand as ruler of the underworld? (At least until The Batman has something to say about it.)

Very Important People Season 2

Genre: Comedy talk show
Release date: November 7th, with an episode
Showrunner/Creator: Vic Michaelis
Guests: John Early, Kate Berlant, Paul F. Tompkins and more

One of Dropout’s funniest additions to its extensive lineup of laugh-out-loud comedy shows returns for a second season. In Very important peopleThe hilarious Vic Michaelis plays a version of himself as an interviewer on public television, speaking to a series of quirky guests. These guests – mostly comedians – were completely redesigned by the VIP Team and have to come up with a character for the interview on site. Chaos ensues, and with this season’s star-studded guest line-up, it’s gearing up for another great time.
