New Steelers Smith and Williams will make their debuts against the Commanders

Newly acquired wide receiver Mike Williams and pass rusher Preston Smith are expected to make their Pittsburgh Steelers debuts on Sunday against the Washington Commanders, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Saturday evening.

Pittsburgh added Williams and Smith at Tuesday’s trade deadline, giving the club veteran depth at two positions it needed as the stretch run looms.

The Steelers sent a fifth-round pick for Williams to the New York Jets and a seventh-round pick for Smith to the Green Bay Packers.

Pittsburgh (6-2) ends its bye week atop the AFC North, but begins a difficult second half of the season at surprise NFC East leader Washington (7-2) on Sunday.
