ESPN College Gameday takes place live in Baton Rouge and offers a preview of the LSU-Alabama duel.

As is usual, they battled their way among the best teams in the country, and Ohio State football was named, ranked No. 3 in the coaches’ poll and No. 2 in the College Football Playoff rankings.

Looking ahead to the Buckeyes coming off their most impressive win of the season, former Alabama head coach and one of the best to ever play Nick Saban talked about Ohio State and how playing in the Buckeyes Big could be a disadvantage -Ten Championship Game.

“Sometimes not playing in the championship game can be an advantage,” Saban said after the show, emphasizing how impressive the Buckeyes were against the Nittany Lions. He was talking about the conference championship game.

His reasoning was simple: Several top teams in the country will miss this game and will still be able to practice and focus on the CFP should they make it. The other will probably be playing his most important game of the season before that and will be drained of momentum if he loses and possibly even more battered or tired even if he wins.

He also talked about what a win like that at Beaver Stadium can do for a team.

The Buckeyes are on a crash course to earn a rematch with the Oregon Ducks in the Big Ten Championship Game should they win their remaining three games against Indiana, Michigan and Northwestern.

Still, Saban makes a good point, even though most would generally disagree with him on the matter.
