Nico Iamaleava WILL NOT return to Mississippi State game, leaves game with injury

Tennessee had a terrible finish to the first half with two star players missing with injuries. The first player out injured is Dylan Sampson.

Sampson would go down with a lower body injury before the end of the half and walk to the locker room under his own power, which was a good sign. Sampson would return to the game, fortunately for Vols’ fans. Sampson will likely be limited in the second half of the contest.

As for the most surprising injury, Nico Iamaleava would be out due to injury. Iamaleava would be out with an upper body injury, which is not a good sign. Many were confused when Iamaleava was not on the field and many did not understand when he was injured. While this is uncertain at this point, we know for certain that he will not be returning to this game. Availability for the Georgia game remains in doubt for the time being, but the Vols’ path to the playoffs could have become much more difficult with the departure of the rookie in the red jersey.
