🍿Top 3 stories of the night 🍿

  1. The Cavaliers reigned supreme over the Golden State Warriors, 136-117, to move to 10-0. They had 83 points at halftime, which tied a franchise record for points in a half. They’re also just the fourth team since the year 2000 to achieve at least a 10-0 start to a season and the 15th to do it in NBA history. They’re also the only team to ever do it while scoring at least 110 points in each game.
  2. The Phoenix Suns remain one of the hottest teams in the NBA, pushing their record to 8-1 and getting their seventh straight win. It’s no easy task going into Dallas and knocking off the Mavericks, but the Suns were up to the challenge, squeaking out a 114-113 victory.
  3. Four players recorded a triple-double Friday. Nikola Jokić, Cade Cunningham, Lebron James, and Scotty Pippen Jr. each pulled off the feat. It was just the 11th time this has happened, and although as many as six have been recorded on a single night before, this is still pretty impressive.

⭐⭐Top 3 Performers of the night ⭐⭐

  1. Anthony Edwards recorded 37 points (12-22 FG, 9-15 3PT, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal in just 30 minutes of action. He now has 50 made threes through his first nine games of the season, a feat only accomplished twice before. Each time by Steph Curry.
  2. Nikola Jokić recorded his fifth triple-double of the season Friday in just nine games. The Joker scored 30 points (11-13 FG, 1-1 3PT, 7-7 FT), 11 rebounds, 14 assists and two steals. His performance aided the Nuggets to their fourth win in a row, and they now sit at 6-3 after a 0-2 start to the season.
  3. Cade Cunningham had 22 points, 11 rebounds, and 13 assists giving him his third consecutive triple-double. Something that hasn’t been done this year by anybody in the NBA, and hasn’t been done by a Piston since Grant Hill in 1997. It was also his fifth career triple-double, which now ties him with Isiah Thomas for the second most in franchise history. Even more importantly in his performance tonight, he hit the winning bucket to give Detroit the 122-121 lead, and made the game-saving block as time expired, moving the Pistons to 4-6.

Get back, he’s going to blow 💥

Malik Monk gets the ball on the perimeter, sees an open lane, detonates at the rim, and explodes for the powerful one-hand slam.

We have to see where this one ultimately ends up on tonight’s Dunk Score rankings.

3️⃣Key Storylines Tonight 📖🍿

  1. The 9-0 Cavaliers put their undefeated start on the line against the red-hot 7-1 Golden State Warriors. Each team ranks at the top of their respective conferences in points scored per game and point differential. This could easily be a must-see matchup and you can catch it live on NBA League Pass
  2. The Suns didn’t have the results they expected in 2023-24, but with the acquisition of new starting point guard Tyus Jones, and new head coach, Mike Budenholzer, Phoenix is off to an impressive 7-1 start and is on a six-game win streak. They’ll now have to travel to Dallas for a heat check against the defending Western Conference Champions. This will be a star-studded affair you can check out live on ESPN.
  3. The 76ers currently sit at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with a 1-6 record as the team can’t seem to catch a break to begin the season. Just as Paul George returned from a knee issue, they lost Tyrese Maxey to a hamstring injury, all while Joel Embiid has remained out and is yet to make his season debut. They’ll be faced with the task of taking on a 4-4 Lakers team who is looking to get back on track after losing two straight, but are returning home to The Staples Center after a five-game road trip.
