One dead, three injured in wrong-way crash on Interstate 35

ANKENY, Iowa (KCCI) – Authorities say a wrong-way driver on his way to work caused a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 35 Thursday evening.

According to an Iowa State Patrol accident report, Paul Jacques, 91, of Burnsville, Minnesota, was driving northbound in the southbound lanes on Thursday around 5 p.m.

Jacques’ Chevrolet Impala crashed into a Toyota Highlander, which then collided with a Toyota Sequoia. A fourth vehicle, a Saturn Vue, also crashed when its driver took evasive maneuvers to avoid Jacques’ vehicle before the collision.
