One man was seriously injured in an accident between a pickup truck and a semi-truck in Brown County on Thursday

HIAWATHA, Kan. (WIBW) – One person suffered serious injuries in a crash involving a minivan and a semi-trailer in Brown County Thursday afternoon, according to authorities.

The crash was reported at 12:38 a.m. Thursday on US-36, about a mile west of Hiawatha.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan minivan was traveling eastbound on US-36 when it drove left of center and struck the side of a 2006 Peterbilt semi-trailer that was traveling westbound on the highway.

The driver of the minivan, Codie A. Horton, 30, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, sustained serious injuries and was transported to the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas. The patrol said Horton, who was alone in the minivan, was not wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, Cameron P. Moser, 40, of Blaine, was reported uninjured. The patrol said Moser was wearing a seatbelt.
