Orlando Magic are being asked to “monitor” Terry Rozier’s fitness with the Miami Heat.

The Miami Heat have apparently found the foundation of their backcourt in Tyler Herro.

Herro is bursting onto the scene at the start of the regular season, displaying a career-worthy level of efficiency. This raises the question of whether the Heat should consider trading for his guard partner Terry Rozier to acquire a more defensive VP.

The Orlando Magic have several they could offer in exchange for Rozier, Cole Anthony and Jalen Suggs. Anthony is the much more realistic return considering Suggs signed a lucrative contract extension this summer. Offensive support is undoubtedly a top priority for Orlando’s front office as they look to head into title contention with Paolo Banchero at the helm.

Bleacher Report’s Dan Favale suggested that the Magic’s best solution is to trade for a guard who will score the first point, possibly Rozier.

“Players like Anfernee Simons, Aaron Wiggins (trade-eligible as of January 15th), Tre Jones, Monte Morris (trade-eligible as of December 15th), LaMelo Ball, Malik Monk (trade-eligible as of December 15th), Terry Rozier, Coby White,” Payton Pritchard and Dennis Schröder are all worth watching,” Favale wrote.

The strength of this list of potential trade targets varies widely, ranging from Morris to a player with superstar potential in Ball. Rozier falls somewhere in the middle, leaving it up to the Magic to determine how much they’re willing to invest in another win-now -piece to invest.
