Pedestrian was struck by a Metra train on the north side

One person was struck by a Metra train on the north side Friday morning, causing significant train service delays.

Inbound and outbound Union Pacific North trains were stopped near the Clybourn station, 2001 N. Ashland Ave., after the person was struck by departing train No. 305, Metra posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Few details were immediately available, but the person attacked was believed to have been trespassing, according to a Metra spokesman.
