Pensacola Ice Flyers release statement after fight during Friday’s game

A brawl at a Pensacola Ice Flyers hockey game that didn’t happen on the ice has led to pending charges and a statement from the team owner.

During the Ice Flyers’ game against Knoxville on Friday, a fight broke out between game spectators in Section 111 of the Pensacola Bay Center. Videos from various angles of the fight began circulating on social media, initially showing two fans sitting with another who was sitting.

As the couple was about to leave, a close-up fan said something to another seated spectator, and then the fight began between a group of people. There were blows between several participants. Several people threw multiple punches before Pensacola police and Ice Flyers personnel finally arrived at the department and calmed the situation.

Some videos showed a bystander with a pretty bloody face.

Pensacola Police Department spokesman Mike Wood told PNJ that there were no arrests immediately following the incident. However, charges are pending against four people involved in the brawl. Wood had not responded to a request to release the names of the people before their arrest at the time of publication.

The Ice Flyers don’t play again at home against the Huntsville Havoc until Saturday at 7:05 p.m
