Phoenix Suns forward Bradley Beal receives injury update

PHOENIX – Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal entered the team’s first NBA Cup game with two injuries on his resume – a sprained elbow that sidelined him for two games earlier this season and a minor knee injury, which happened on Friday, which ended up not being the case. See how he misses the time.

A third was added to the Star’s report during Tuesday’s win over the Utah Jazz, where Beal exited with 7:19 left and didn’t leave the locker room.

Suns coach Mike Budenholzer told reporters after the game that Beal suffered a strained calf.

“We’ll just see how he does — how he wakes up — what the medical team has for us tomorrow,” Budenholzer said, via Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic:

Afterward, Beal also spoke about his injury in the locker room (also courtesy of Rankin):

“It just got too tight for me. I think it was probably because of the knee injury from last game…It should be fine, it was just a little precaution, I got one tomorrow,” said Beal, referring to the team’s Wednesday night matchup against the Sacramento Kings .

“It feels good. It’s still a bit tight, but I should be fine tomorrow. We’ll see how I feel in the morning.”

Beal finished the night with 24 points, three rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block. With his help, the Suns achieved a 9-2 record that year and won their first game in the NBA Cup.

Phoenix had already lost two starters on Tuesday in Kevin Durant (calf strain, will be out for two weeks) and Jusuf Nurkic (ankle soreness, missed first game against Utah), although their replacements performed quite well against the Jazz.

Mason Plumlee posted a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds, while rookie Ryan Dunn scored eight points (2-2, 3 PT shots) with three rebounds and a block in 20 minutes.

The Kings, who handed the Suns their second overtime loss on Sunday, await a game from Phoenix tomorrow at 8 p.m. in Sacramento, the second part of a four-game Suns road trip.

Official injury reports should reveal Beal’s status for Wednesday and moving forward tomorrow, although it sounds like the injury was not serious.
