Real Madrid suffers a double injury blow against Osasuna after seven minutes

Real Madrid lost two first-team stars to what appeared to be serious injuries in the first half of their La Liga clash against Osasuna on Saturday.

Captain Lucas Vazquez also had to be substituted after the break, meaning Los Blancos were injured three times in the first half.

The defending champions went into the home game at the Bernabeu already dejected after suffering back-to-back defeats at the same stadium.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men were beaten 4-0 by bitter rivals FC Barcelona in the El Clasico and lost 3-1 to his former club AC Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday, sparking rumors of a crisis in the white half of the Spanish capital let.

Ancelotti made three changes to the side caught up in the latter problem, with Rodrygo given a starting XI and a chance to impress in attack.

However, with just 20 minutes left on the clock, the Brazilian threw himself to the ground and touched his left leg.

He managed to walk off the pitch without assistance, but was emotional on the bench as he was consoled by his teammates when Brahim Diaz replaced him.

Seven minutes later things got even worse for defender Eder Militao, who had to be carried off the pitch in tears after half an hour.

His replacement Raul Asencio provided an assist for Jude Bellingham as Madrid took a 2-0 lead after Vinicius Jr.’s opener, and Ancelotti’s men went into the tunnel with such a lead at the break before making it 4-0 -Secured overall victory.

Still, the injuries are particularly worrying for Madrid given their undermanned first team.

The extent of the jabs is expected to be confirmed on Sunday once the club’s medical services have carried out tests on the affected players.

Accordingly RelevoHowever, citing anonymous sources, Madrid fears that Militao has torn his cruciate ligament again.

If Militao is out for a long period of time, justifying such a setback, Ancelotti will be left with just a senior natural centre-back in Toni RĂ¼diger, while David Alaba still hasn’t returned.

Aurelien Tchouameni, who often filled in for RĂ¼diger’s backline when Alaba and Militao were both sidelined with ACL injuries last season, is also out injured for at least a month, and all of that could force Madrid to hit the transfer market in January.

At the front line, Brahim and Arda Guler or even Endrick could be given opportunities that have been rare recently in the case of the latter teenagers.

If Vazquez goes on the sick list, Madrid will be seriously short of options at right-back, with first choice Dani Carvajal already sidelined with an injury that is likely to keep him out for the rest of the season.
