Reg Lenna Center is hosting the Cat Video Fest | next weekend News, sports, jobs

Submitted Photo The nationally known Cat Video Fest is scheduled to take place in mid-November at the Reg Lenna Center.

November 16th is all about the cats and raising money for the Chautauqua County Humane Society for the Reg Lenna Center For The Arts.

Len Barry, director of marketing and communications for Reg Lenna, said the Cat Video Fest is run by the company Oscilloscope Laboratories and has been a national event for about a year. The festival features a video of popular cat videos from around the internet, and any community can show it by partnering with a local animal protection organization.

“It came via email and we said this is something we want to do.” Barry said. “We reached out to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, who we have worked with in the past, and they said yes.”

The Cat Video Fest will be held at Reg Lenna, 116 East Third Street, on November 16th at 2 p.m. Doors open one hour before and tickets are available online at reglenna.com until a few hours before and then available at the door. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for children. 10% of the proceeds go to the Humane Society.

The Humane Society will also be at the event and will be bringing some special guests.

“When people come into the lobby, the Humane Society will be there with a few of their cats that some people might want to adopt.” Barry said. “The film starts at 2 p.m. and after that it’s like a normal film, including concessions.”

Barry welcomed the community to come to the event and said it would be a very fun afternoon of laughing at cats from the recent past and having a good time.

“Watching a film, especially a comedy, in front of an audience is always a good time.” Barry said. “And it helps the Humane Society. So come out and have a good time and maybe meet a future forever friend.”
