Rollover incident in Washington County ends in arrest | KCII Radio

On Thursday, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle rollover incident with unknown injuries in an agricultural field near the southeast corner of the intersection of 110th St. and Orange Ave. in rural Washington County. A 2007 Hyundai Entourage van, driven by Adilio Aguilar-Lucas of Washington, was traveling on Orange Ave. towards the south. As Aguilar-Lucas approached the stop sign at 110th St. and Orange Ave. approaching, he did not stop, entered the intersection, lost control and … left the roadway, hit the embankment, rolled over several times and came to a stop with the right side up and facing north.

The driver and passenger got out of the vehicle, the passenger remained at the scene of the accident, but the driver fled west on foot. A short time later, officers observed the operator hiding in trees north of J Ave. hidden on 14th St. in Kalona. Aguilar-Lucas was arrested and booked on an active warrant through Washington County, Operating While Intoxicated: 1st Offense, a Major Misdemeanor, Driving While Suspended, Careless Driving, a Simple Misdemeanor, Failure to Maintain Control, a Simple Misdemeanor , No proof of an insured accident and leaving the scene of the accident. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Washington County Ambulance Service, Kalona Fire Department, Kalona QRS and Bulltown Towing.
