Ropes ISD closed Monday to mourn the death of an employee

ROPESVILLE, Texas (KCBD) – Ropes ISD has canceled classes for Monday as the district mourns the loss of Ms. Ronda Ryals.

The district released this statement Sunday evening:

Closing on Monday November 11, 2024 due to the loss of an employee

Dear students and parents,

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected death of Ms. Ronda Ryals, a valued employee. In light of this loss, the district will be closed on Monday, November 11th to allow the entire Ropes ISD community time to mourn and prepare for the days ahead.

While the district remains closed, the building will remain open as we will provide students, staff and stakeholders with counselors who can address their grief in the manner they choose. We would like to reassure you that staff and advisory support will be available throughout the day from 9am for students and staff who may need assistance.

School operations will continue as usual on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.

Our thoughts are with Ms. RyaIs. Family, friends and everyone whose lives she touched. She was an eagle through and through. We will miss her very much.

Sincerely,

Ropes ISD administration
