There you have it. It will be Shaboozey.

The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter was just announced as the halftime show headliner at the Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears Thanksgiving Day game on Nov. 28, the Lions said.

The Nigerian-American crossover artist released his first single in 2014. He can also be heard on “Spaghettii” and “Sweet Honey Buckin'” from Beyoncé’s critically acclaimed album Cowboy Carter.

But it was probably “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” that catapulted him into the mainstream with its catchy lyrics and dance-friendly beat.

Spotfiy even named it one of its top 5 global songs of the summer, along with “

  • “BIRD OF A FEATHER” – Billie Eilish
  • “Get going!” — Chappell Roan
  • “Not Like Us” – Kendrick Lamar
  • “Espresso” vs. Sabrina Carpenter

Shaboozey was recently nominated for six Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist for “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” written by Sean Cook, Jerrel Jones, Joe Kent, Chibueze Collins Obinna, Nevin Sastry and Mark Williams. The song is also up for selection of the year, best country solo performance and best country song.

The 67th Annual Grammys will take place on February 2nd at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+.

Shaboozey won the People’s Choice Country Awards for New Artist and New Artist Song for “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” in September.
