Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge headline the 2024 MLB Silver Slugger winners

MLB announced the winners of the 2024 Silver Slugger on Tuesday night, with two expected names at the top of the list.

Dodgers slugger Shohei Ohtani and Yankees MLB home run leader Aaron Judge were both awarded Silver Sluggers, which honor the best offensive player at each position in each league. The awards precede each player’s expected MVP crowning later this week.

For Ohtani, the honor highlights a breakthrough season in which he became the first player in MLB history to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a single season en route to winning his first World Series championship in his first season with the Dodgers. Judge led the AL in home runs for the third time in his career with an MLB-best 58 while also leading the Yankees to the World Series.

The Dodgers and Padres led the way with three Silver Slugger winners each. Jose Altuve, on the other hand tied with Cubs star Ryne Sandberg for the most Silver Sluggers second baseman’s seventh win ever. Mookie Betts also secured his seventh place finish.

The Dodgers and Yankees were both honored with the Silver Sluggers team for the best overall offense in each league this season. The winners were selected by a vote of MLB managers and coaches. Here are the 2024 Silver Slugger winners:
