Klay Thompson has once again asked Steph Curry not to do anything on his behalf.

Curry was scheduled to address the Warriors and Dallas Mavericks in front of fans at Chase Center on Tuesday night, but that will no longer be happening.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr told reporters before the game that Curry and Thompson spoke Monday night and agreed not to give the pregame speech, which would take place after the players’ introductions.

“In situations like that, whether it’s ring night or something like that, it often happens that a player returns,” Kerr told reporters before the game when asked about the game’s heightened emotions. “I know we had talked about Steph speaking to the audience. He won’t do that now. He and Klay talked about it last night. They both have to prepare for a game.”

“And whatever you say, there will be enough emotions. The audience will give him a massive ovation that will probably last for a while. So these guys got together and decided without saying a word.” [were] It is necessary and we will give it a hint and hope we can settle into the game quickly.”

Thompson is playing his highly anticipated first game against the Warriors after leaving the franchise in July.

The Warriors will distribute captain’s hats to fans in attendance at Chase Center and they will play a tribute video to Thompson before he is introduced to the audience.

Before leaving the Warriors, Thompson asked Curry and Draymond Green not to make the Warriors make a final attempt to bring him back.

As he did this summer, Curry obliged Thompson’s request.
