Sting says Sean “Diddy” Combs’ allegations won’t “taint” his song

Diddy charged with sex trafficking and racketeering

After Combs was arrested on the sealed indictment, the indictment was unsealed on September 17.

The 54-year-old was charged with conspiracy to commit extortion; sex trafficking involving force, fraud, or coercion; and transportation for prostitution, according to court documents obtained by NBC News.

The indictment alleges that for more than a decade Combs “abused, threatened and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation and conceal his behavior.” Prosecutors said the alleged conduct began around 2008.

“To achieve this,” the documents say, “Combs relied on the employees, resources and influence of the multifaceted corporate empire he led and controlled – creating a criminal enterprise in which members and associates participated and participated attempted to participate in sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery and obstruction of justice, among other crimes.”

According to NBC News, Combs pleaded not guilty and was denied bail.

“He will fight this with all his energy and strength,” his lawyer said Marc Agnifilo told reporters outside the courthouse before the arraignment: “And the full confidence of his lawyers.”
