Stroud Remembrance Service hit by ‘controversial’ incident

Hundreds attended the annual service in Park Gardens this morning.

However, during the service, loud music came from a nearby property and was heard for several minutes before the ceremony ended.

Police knocked on the door of the property while worshipers also came by and asked if the music could be turned off, saying it was “disgraceful”.

The music played for several minutes without anyone in the property reacting.

Finally, a man shouted something about “memory” out the window, although the SNJ reporter present couldn’t hear what they said.

The music was eventually turned off and the service continued as usual afterward.

The priest thanked the crowd for their patience during those few tense minutes. Hundreds applauded the person who walked up to the door of the property and shouted at them, calling their actions “disgraceful”.
