SALT LAKE CITY – Phoenix Suns two-way player Collin Gillespie will be re-evaluated in four weeks after suffering a broken right ankle while playing for the franchise’s G League team, the Valley Suns.

Gillespie played in the Valley Suns’ season opener on November 8 against the Santa Cruz Warriors. He scored five points on 2-of-2 shooting in the first two minutes of the game, but exited the game with 9:35 left in the first quarter.

The point guard did not return to the game. This is the Valley Suns’ inaugural season.

The Phoenix Suns initially listed Gillespie with a right ankle sprain. On injured Sunday, he wore a boot when the Phoenix Suns played the Sacramento Kings at the Footprint Center. The Suns lost in overtime 127-118.

This is his first season with Phoenix after starting his career with the Denver Nuggets.

He played one game for the Phoenix Suns during the regular season, scoring three points on a 3 in the October 26 home opener against the Dallas Mavericks.

The Valley Suns (2-1) won their home opener Monday 108-100 against the Stockton Kings at Mullett Arena. Their next game is at the San Diego Clippers in Oceanside, California on Thursday at 8 p.m.

The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
