Taylor Swift video sparks outrage at Chiefs game

A video of Taylor Swift’s arrival at a Kansas City Chiefs game has sparked outrage after the pop superstar’s security asked photographers to stand. Many assumed this was so they couldn’t take photos up her skirt.

Swift came to Sunday’s game to watch her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, play against the Denver Broncos. As is often the case when the singer attends a game, hordes of photographers awaited her arrival at Arrowhead Stadium – and they received direct instructions from her team.

It’s typical for those in front of the press kit to crouch so as not to obscure the view of the reporters and photographers behind them, but that wasn’t allowed on Sunday. In a video posted online that has since gone viral, her security can be seen walking in front of Swift and asking photographers to “stand up” as she walks past to enter the VIP suite at the stadium.

As Swift passed the photographers, one went back to his knees, which resulted in one of Swift’s security guards directly asking him to “stand up” as Swift entered the premises.

Newsweek emailed a Swift spokesperson outside of normal business hours on Monday seeking comment.

A recent video was posted by user @wibwKatie to X (formerly Twitter), where it had 1.1 million views at the time of writing and has since been reshared by various other accounts. Although it hasn’t been confirmed that any of the photographers attempted to take a photo up Swift’s skirt, speculation continues to swirl.

User @SavLovesSwift reposted the clip on the social media site with the caption: “Her security is yelling at the photographers to stand up so they can’t take photos up her skirt πŸ™ Welcome to being a woman.” At the time of writing: The post was viewed 12.8 million times.

The one on her watch.

β€œOh my god, what happened here??? How they say to this guy: GET UP, STAND UP and Taylor slows down very carefully? What’s the context?” @taylorisdownbad commented, to which @deedeedott replied: “She’s wearing a short skirt, he told the photographers to resist it, they basically won’t get photos up her skirt.”

User @wishescametrue added: “Taylor’s security guards said ‘get up’ to someone and then Taylor carefully and noticeably slowed her walk to tiny steps… I assume it was because they were trying to take photos up her skirt. Our sexually exploitative society is disgusting.”

Swift attended all five of the Chiefs’ home games this season, and on Sunday she cheered on Kelce as he caught the football in the end zone, breaking an NFL record.

β€œThere he is! The Chiefs’ all-time leading touchdown receiver! From [Patrick] Mahomes. β€œThis will give you something to sing about,” said CBS spokesman Kevin Harlan.

Kelce, for his part, was also seen in the audience at several stops on Swift’s record-breaking journey Epoch tourwhich took her around the world for more than 18 months and in which she completed the US leg in Indianapolis on November 3rd.

A video of the athlete leaving his girlfriend’s second Indianapolis show while being followed by a camera crew recently went viral, reinforcing the theory that the pop star is filming a documentary about her tour.

This isn’t the only viral clip of Kelce supporting his girlfriend. In a video on TikTok, the tight end was seen smiling and dancing to “So High School” alongside Swift’s mother.
