Texas man injured in car crash in Walton County

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – One person was reportedly injured in a car accident in Walton County on Sunday.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said the incident occurred around 3:50 p.m. They said a sedan was traveling westbound on Interstate 10 near mile marker 84 in Walton County when it left the road and crashed into several trees.

Police said the driver, a 20-year-old man from Waxahachie, Texas, was not injured in the crash, but the passenger, a 23-year-old man from Grand Prairie, Texas, was seriously injured and was taken to an area hospital brought in with non-life-threatening injuries.

Troopers said both men were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash and that both families were notified.
