The Cavs outlast the Nets 105-100, improving their unprecedented start to 11-0

CLEVELAND, Ohio – There were a lot of emotions leading up to Saturday’s game between the Cavs and Brooklyn Nets, but it was also a challenge for the Cavs to become the 13th team in NBA history with their 105-100 victory , which started an 11-0 season.

Kenny Atkinson has led the Cavs to their best start in franchise history, but in the last two games he wanted a little more than the rest.

On Friday, he took on Golden State and Steve Kerr, the team and coach that Atkinson credits for his development to his current coaching status. On Saturday he faced the team that gave him his first chance as a head coach.

With his new team, Atkinson beat both of them.

“Last night I was like, man, I wanted this game because you had such a great experience with the team you were on, but you also want to beat them,” Atkinson said before the game against the Nets. “It’s the same with the Nets. I had a wonderful experience, but when you’ve been on a team before, there’s always something special. So a little more awareness, a little more excitement. You want it a little more.
