The coldest weather of the season is just around the corner and the risk of fire remains today

The shift to cooler and then colder temperatures has begun. Today, gusty northwest winds will bring significantly cooler temperatures. Readings will continue to be in the 50s in most areas. Due to the gusty winds, if fires occur, there will be a high rate of fire spread. Highs on Tuesday and Wednesday will remain in the 40s! Overnight lows will fall into the 20s and lower 30s. Seasonal temperatures are expected again by the end of the week. No rain is expected for the weekend.


Warnings: Fire weather warning for Passaic, Hudson, Bergen, Essex and Union counties.
