The Crime Victim Support Center is holding a 45th anniversary celebration

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) – To celebrate 45 years of supporting members of our community, the Crime Victims Assistance Center (CVAC) hosted a celebration tonight at the Holiday Inn in downtown Binghamton.

Former and current members of the relief center celebrated their long milestone together.

12 News spoke with CVAC Executive Director Christine Battisti about the resources they provide to the community and how they urge the public to take advantage of those resources.

“There are so many people who don’t know about our services and so many people who suffer in silence. So this is really the time to show that if someone is struggling or in an abusive relationship and needs help, they can reach out to us. And all of our services are free and confidential, and we are really just here to support survivors and victims,” said Christine Battisti.

They said tonight’s event is a tribute to all the lives that have been improved and impacted by the outreach center’s efforts.
