The Dolphins end their three-game losing streak with a much-needed win over the Rams

The Miami Dolphins are back on the winning list, snapping a three-game losing streak against the Los Angeles Rams (23-15) on “Monday Night Football.”

At 2-6, the Dolphins were in last place in the AFC East and were desperately hoping for a road win at SoFi Stadium when they entered Monday night, and they did so against a now 4-5 Rams team.

Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins offense got exactly what they wanted on the first drive of the game, moving seamlessly down the field to score a touchdown.

Tagovailoa needed just five plays to go 70 yards, ending with an 18-yard run by Malik Washington for six scores.

It was a trick play of sorts, as Tagovailoa faked the handoff to De’Von Achane in the backfield before passing it to Washington, who was running in the opposite direction.

Meanwhile, Matthew Stafford and the Rams’ offense, which had performed well in recent weeks, was stymied throughout by the Dolphins’ defense.

The Rams had three punts and two turnovers in their first five drives – an interception by Stafford and a fumble by Kyren Williams – before finally scoring a field goal.

In fact, the Rams never managed to reach the end zone once in this game, as all of their points came from the foot of kicker Josh Karty.

The Dolphins slowed down after the opening touchdown, but were able to find the paint again, and it was finally Tyreek Hill back in the game for the first time since Week 1.

It wasn’t an overwhelming day for Hill, who only had 16 yards on three catches, but one of those was a one-yard touchdown catch on a great play call. Hill appeared to leak a run from Achane, but Tagovailoa quickly pulled the ball and threw a strike to Hill, who secured it.

Jason Sanders kicked a field goal that effectively iced the win for Miami, as the Rams didn’t make Karty’s fifth field goal of the game until late in the fourth quarter and only an onside kick represented their last hope of a potential overtime finish.

However, Miami secured this attempt from Los Angeles and they were able to record the victory again.

Looking at the box score, Tagovailoa went 20 of 28 for 207 yards with a touchdown and an interception, while Stafford went 23 of 46 for 293 yards.

Puka Nacua led the way in receiving in the game, catching nine passes for 98 yards, while Cooper Kupp had 80 yards on seven receptions.
