The needed rain returns Wednesday evening | November 13, 2024 – Indianapolis News | Indiana Weather | Indiana traffic

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Parts of the state could receive over 1 inch of rainfall by Thursday afternoon.

This morning:

Temperatures are cooler again this morning as a thin layer of clouds slowly begins to move into central Indiana.

Wednesday:

Clouds will continue to form for most of the morning, but we will remain dry. Winds will also gradually strengthen before our next gust arrives overnight. Scattered showers will begin in the mid to late afternoon. There should be a bit more rain as we prepare for the evening commute.

Meanwhile, high temperatures will reach into the upper 50s and lower 60s.

Wednesday evening:

It will rain across the entire area in the evening and into the early hours of the night. Much of our area is expected to receive between half an inch and an inch of precipitation.

Thursday:

Scattered light showers will continue through the first half of the day as the frontal system slowly moves through. Otherwise it will be cloudy and a little cooler with highs in the mid 50s.

Friday/This weekend:

Calm weather on Friday and above average temperatures for much of this weekend. High pressure will settle in over the next few days keeping us sunny, with highs reaching the mid and upper 50s on Friday and Saturday and into the lower 60s on Sunday.

7 day forecast:

Temperatures will remain above average early next week, reaching highs around 60 on Monday and Tuesday. It may rain lightly on both days. We are beginning to see signs of a significant pattern change by mid to late next week, which could result in significant cooling across our region.
