“The Office,” “Jack Ryan” and more

John Krasinski was just named PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive of 2024, and honestly, that shouldn’t surprise anyone. This man has been making office jobs and silence in companies sexy for over 20 years. And he always makes us laugh, which is perhaps the sexiest thing about him.

From unexpectedly dizzying romantic leads to straight-up action heroes, here are Krasinski’s hottest roles yet.

No one else can make business life so romantic. Krasinski played the role of sarcastic sales representative Jim Halpert throughout the run of NBC’s iconic comedic mockumentary The officemaking Pam (Jenna Fischer) – and the audience – fall in love with him with every grin, every blank look, and every sideways glance at the camera. Not even his workplace nemesis Dwight (Rainn Wilson) could escape his charm, as at the end of the series he asked Jim to be best man at his wedding.

Shrek (Mike Myers) himself said it best: “Strong, handsome, the face of a leader.” Tut [he] “Looks like a king or something?” Krasinski had a small but nice appearance in the third part Shrek Film, Shrek the Thirdin which he does the voice of a high school-aged Sir Lancelot in a quick but hilarious scene. He played the stereotypical dumb jock role well and we would definitely watch a spin-off movie about him.

After getting a taste of the (animated) sport, Krasinski turned his attention to reality in his next big role. He starred alongside George Clooney and Renée Zellweger in Leather headsthe historical comedy about the beginnings of professional football. Krasinski scored points as war hero and pro football player Carter “the Bullet” Rutherford, but he really made us swoon as he battled his teammate for the heart of the reporter who wanted to beat him.

What can’t Krasinski do?! With A quiet place, He proved he was a triple threat by directing, co-writing and starring in the post-apocalyptic horror thriller alongside his real-life wife Emily Blunt. The story is about a family struggling to survive after an alien invasion. He also made silence scary, and for some people that is sexy (no judgment here).

Jack Ryan in “Jack Ryan” (2018-2023)

We’re not saying Krasinski is the sexiest man to ever play Jack Ryan. But neither are we not I’m not saying that either. After Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine, Krasinski was the next actor to play the titular spy created by Tom Clancy, this time in one Jack Ryan TV series for Prime Video. This version of Jack is a CIA data analyst plucked from the safety of his desk job and thrown into the world of field missions, and Krasinski played him with equal parts bumbling awkwardness and quiet confidence. By the end of season four, he was literally running the CIA, and there’s nothing sexier than a man who can grow and evolve.

After years of being cast by fans to play Fantastic Four leader Reed Richards, Krasinski finally made that dream come true – and he looked even better than fans had predicted. Even though it’s not from Marvel officially Mister Fantastic – this honor goes to Pedro Pascal next year The Fantastic Four: Getting Started movie – thanks to some multiverse magic, he played the role first. In the Doctor Strange Consequence, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessKrasinski was Earth-838’s version of Reed Richards, a member of the Illuminati tasked with protecting their world from Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and the Darkhold. He looked so good in his Fantastic Four super suit with that streak of gray in his hair, but all good things must come to an end. In a shocking twist, he died a brutal death, torn to pieces by the murderous Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen). Be careful what you wish for!
