The Patriots had to put Tom Brady’s return on hold until the 2025 season

After being officially honored by the New England Patriots with a special farewell ceremony this summer, Tom Brady was expected to return to Gillette Stadium sometime during the 2024 season. Since he finally entered the FOX Sports broadcast booth, it was expected that he would be in attendance for at least one game this year.

This was expected to be the Patriots’ Week 2 game against the Seahawks; At least the organization believed that would be the case, except that Brady would be assigned to a different game. Three weeks later, the former quarterback was scheduled to finish his game against the Dolphins, but Tua Tagovailoa’s injury changed his plans again.

While that was a disappointment for Patriots fans, it was even more disappointing for Robert Kraft and Co. as they planned to unveil the 12-foot-tall statue of Brady that the owner spoke of during the farewell ceremony this summer, while he was present this season.

Since plans have changed, the unveiling of the statue at the stadium will also change. ESPN’s Mike Reiss revealed in his Sunday notes that the organization now plans to wait until the 2025 season in hopes that Brady will be in the locker room for a game then.

“Given that Brady is not expected to be in Foxboro this season, plans have now shifted to find a date in 2025 that best fits, according to a source familiar with Brady’s schedule.” to honor him properly.”

It’s a bit risky to wait since they won’t know for a while whether FOX will let the A-Team call a Patriots game, especially since they aren’t expected to be a significantly better team next year , which justifies the best transmission Duo. However, it wouldn’t make much sense to not have Brady there for the reveal, so it makes sense to wait.

Hopefully it will happen sooner rather than later. Patriots fans are excited to see what the statue will look like.
